Sanctuary Spa- 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask Review

Sanctuary Spa- 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask Review

Sanctuary spa is a great love of mine! I have wanted the face mask for absolutely ages and now I finally have it I can do a real and honest review on the product! I hope you find this hopeful and if you have any questions please feel free to comment.

So I'm going to be truthful; in my opinion this is a very expensive product for the size, at £10.50 a tube this puts many people off. HOWEVER, if you compare this product to the cost of packet face masks it works out like this:

Packet face mask = (roughly) £1

[times this by 10 to roughly equal the price of the Sanctuary Spa tube = 10 face mask treatments]

I find that the sanctuary spa tube goes much further in terms of usage, possibly 15+ facials from it. If you think of the mask in terms of a face wash and how quickly a 100ml tube will last you (because very little this stuff is needed) then this is how far the Sanctuary product will go.  So, overall I guess it works out better value for money than repetitively purchasing packet masks.

The second down side to this is the appearance and smell. Firstly, to me it just smells of clay, this isn't a pretty smell at all. But on the plus side this means that there probably aren't any harsh fragrance chemicals added to the product, meaning it is possibly safer for people with sensitive skin. Secondly, the appearance of it... it's grey, most definitely from the charcoal  Grey is such a boring off putting colour when it comes to beauty products. Then again, this means that there are very little harsh colouring chemicals in it which is a bonus for those sensitive skin people out there.

This mask would be fab to do in the bath or at the sink after a long day. The mask does leave my skin a little red because of its thermal properties, so I would recommend to use this when you aren't planning on going anywhere.

To use the mask, your face needs to be damp. You then squeeze a small amount onto your finger tips and begin to massage a thin layer onto the face (it seriously only has to be a thin layer). At this point the mask will warm, this is a pleasant heat- like sinking into a steamy bath kind of feeling- but on your face! After all of the face and neck has a thin coat you then take out 5 minutes to chill. The mask does not dry, it becomes firm but does not dry out like other masks. This is a positive as it means the mask does not take any hydration out of the dry patches that may be on your skin; it just simply opens and cleanses pores. After 5 minutes of peace I then use a wet muslin cloth or a flannel to clear all the mask from my skin. And finally pat dry with a towel and check out the results.

I am not exaggerating when I say my skin feels like actual silk! I have never felt my face feel so soft and pure! I looked at my skin in the mirror after the first use and it had a renewed, matte look to it. The next morning the imperfections (spots) on my skin had reduced in size and redness. A friend also commented on how clear my skin appeared in comparison to the day before. This is a fabulous result.

This mask works wonders and to anyone who is a constant make-up wearer like me this mask is brilliant to clear out clogged pores. The exothermic reaction gives a luxurious spa feel. I don't think there are many other masks out there that are of this standard for the price.

Sanctuary spa also do a sachet of this which will get around two uses, at £3 boots, if you want to give it a try. If you like it and but you're put off the price, then ask for it as a birthday/ Christmas present. Alternatively with Mother's Day rapidly approaching this would make the perfect gift. It is also often on 3 for 2 at boots so you could also pick it up as part of a special promotion.

I don't want to feel like I am raving, but Sanctuary Spa never fail to impress me, and this product has just heightened the brilliance of this brand ! The results are beyond belief for me, after using packet face masks for years I can clearly notice the contrast between them. To anyone in need of a quick skin rescue, this is the product for you.
