Seche Vite Top and Base Coat Review

After endless amounts of bloggers raving about the Seche Vite range I began to crave it myself! Once my friend alerted me about its appearance on Buyapowa I snapped the two coats up straight away. Prior to the purchase of the coats I was using O.P.I top and base coat which I believed was fairly good. But what makes this brand stand out is the fast drying of the top coat and this is what made me want it so bad! Each time I paint my nails I get really frustrated as usually they smudge. As you can understand I was pleased that I managed to get my hands on these two coats! So here is a little review on what I think about the coats!

The base coat surprised me as I found that it has a thick cream texture as opposed to a thin clear one. It also dries with a white tint to it which I haven't seen in a base coat before. However, even with my damaged nails it managed to somehow smooth out all of the ridges. I think because of the way it dries it sets a perfect canvas for the next polish. I find the pigmentation of the next polish I put on is greater due to the whiter base coat. The base coat is completely unique compared to any I have previously used. I believe this is why I feel I receive a salon feel from this base coat in comparison to others.

I am super impressed with the top coat. I don't own many, previously I would have raved about the O.P.I top coat, but it really doesn't not have a spot on the Seche Vite fast dry coat. I love painting my nails but I hate how long they take to dry. Admittedly this top coat does not dry instantly, but in comparison to other polishes and coats this dries solid in the matter of minutes! I feel confident to move about and use my hands without the fear of smudging once I have used this. It's also very thick compared to over top coats, therefore, as it dries it adds an extra layer onto the nail. This leaves a perfect salon quality finish which I just love! The thickness of the top coat means that chipping is minimal and a manicure is actually durable. The feel of the finish is beautifully smooth and I honestly cannot stop smoothing over my nails each time I have the top coat on.

If you want a high quality salon finish at home then these coats are the most prefect way to go about it. The Seche Vite coats can even make my cheapest of nail polishes look super expensive. I would recommend shopping around for it as I understand it can add up to quite an expense. I brought mine from buyapowa which discounted these to £11.50* for the both.

What do you think of Seche Vite? Are there any other coats out there that are worth the hype? Comment below and let me know.

Overall Rating: 5/5 I am in love with these coats and definitely would repurchase.
Feel: Salon quality finish, overall very smooth!
Smell: It is a little strong admittedly! Don't get too close to it!
Use: Very simple to apply, both coats have thick large brushes.
Value for Money: These coats are very expensive in my opinion. However, you can find these for much cheaper if you search!
Would I purchase again: Definitely! I  don't think I would change!

Drug Store Makeup in Poundland!

So the other day me and my friends went into the new Poundland in Leeds just to look for some bargains! We didn't really go in there for makeup but of course we came out with some! To my surprise I saw that Poundland were selling drug store makeup and nail polishes! How this came to be I have no idea but they had a range of items from Rimmel and Maybelline to Sally Hansen. I didn't get much because I could feel myself going over board as everything was only £1 but here are a few things I did get.

The first item is a MNY nail polish from Maybelline, these retail for £2.99 in Tesco so it's a great bargain to get one for a £1! The next two items are by Sally Hansen, the majority of the time these polishes retail between £2-£5 so again a good deal! The last item is a Rimmel Lip Liner which I spotted in boots for £2.99.  My friend Casey got herself a gorgeous little eye shadow too which I believe is Rimmel? So there are plenty of things in there! This is just a little post to let you all know that Poundland are selling these items. Obviously they'll be different products in each one and I don't know if it's dodgy that they are selling higher priced products but hey ho we're all still getting a bargain! I understand that some people find carrying a Poundland bag down the high street is the last thing they want to be seen doing but if it saves you some pennies it's a great idea to take a look. They sell a whole range of other beauty and body items, some of which are triple the price in drug stores. If you're a student like me or are generally trying to pinch some pennies, Poundland is perfect for those odd bits and bobs! That's a wrap for this post, if you have read this well thank you for reading and I hope you find yourself some good bargains in the near future!

April Birchbox - 2013 Edition

So this is my second Birchbox and this is what I thought! Firstly I'm really sorry about the late post, I've just been all over the place at the moment and I've been putting my blog behind! This is just a quick review so apologises if it's not too in depth but I didn't want to add too much information!

So the first product is this little green tube from Weleda. Apparently it's a little wonder cream called 'skin food'. I must say I totally agree with the name! The first time I used it I slathered it all over my face at night and woke up with skin so soft I could not stop feeling it. It has a herbal scent too which is very refreshing but at night seems to make me feel sleepy. It hasn't once left my skin feeling greasy at all and if I could compare it to a product it would be a like to the Yu-Be cream which was within my last box. However Weleda is much more affordable, I will definitely purchase this again!

The second product is a beautiful little vintage box. It contains soap which is slightly random but I have to admit it smells beautiful! It reminds me of the Burt's Bees hand cream, it's just amazing! Unfortunately I won't be using this so scrub my hands with it because if I'm honest soap bars really irritate me. However I do have a soap collection going off in my clothes drawers. Just a little trick my Nanna taught me: pop a bar of soap in with your clothes and they'll always smell fresh. Simple.

The third is a lipstick pencil, otherwise describes as a chubby stick. The shade isn't my cup of tea as it's quite shimmery but I guess I would wear it casually within the day. It contains something which somehow makes my lips feel very moisturised. It's not a brand I have heard of but I guess they will issue other colours too, which if I ever feel like I need a chubby stick I'll have a look! But for now, I have enough! **must stop purchasing makeup**.

Nearly every single week I'm like 'urrggg, why do I not have a mirror in my bag'! So it's kind of obvious that receiving this was a godsend! I think I'll keep this mirror as a travel one and take it around with me. It's a mirror, they're all pretty much the same they just have different designs. I think this is pretty neat as only a limited amount of people will have it. Thanks for that Birchy!

Woah this next product sucked! No idea why this company believes that the smell of this is relaxing because I just felt ill each time got a whiff of my hair. It reminded me of the smell of green Thai curry which isn't a pretty smell in your hair! It didn't do anything to benefit my hair either so for that reason I will not be purchasing this product any time soon!

The last product is an age serum from Gerda Spillmann. I'm 18 years old so I'm not really in need of anti-again serums however I do believe it's good to start using them young to keep good elasticity within the skin to prevent winkles when I'm older. This is a very small sample and the price of the full one is pretty steep! I'm not aware of this brand so for anti ageing I'll most probably stick to brands such as Estee Lauder.

Overall, I can say this month hasn't been super impressive. I do feel as though I have received great products for the price however I wont be using many of them on a regular basis and one of them I will not use at all so I feel it's a slight let down. I think I'll carry on with my Birchbox for one more month and then cancel my subscription as I haven't been as impressed with Birchbox as I have been with Glossy box. If I were to recommend one product from the box it will definitely be the Weleda Skin Food, it's simple amazing!
